PiePaw's Pie Crust (Credit Brenda Gantt)

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 Cups Flour
  • 1/2 tsp. Kosher Salt
  • 2 Tbsps. Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Cooking Oil (I use Canola or Vegetable Oil)
  • 3 1/2 Tbsps. Whole Milk

Instructions

  1. Select a 9 inch pie pan.

  2. Add flour, salt, and sugar and mix well.

  3. Stir in cooking oil and milk and mix well.

  4. If mixture is too wet add flour. If it's too dry add milk.

  5. Pat mixture into the bottom and up the sides of the pie pan. Use a glass or small dish to help to flatten the dough. Press the glass against the sides of the pie pan and create your decorative edge.

  6. I placed the pie pan into the freezer for 15 minutes before baking. Preheat oven to 375 degrees while the crust is in the freezer.

  7. Bake at 375 degrees for about 20 minutes or until desired color is reached.
