French Bread French Toast

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Loaf French Bread (Cut in THICK Slices) Stale and Dry is BEST!
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1/2 Cup Whole Milk Any kind will work.
  • 1 Tblsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp. Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 to 1 tsp. Cinnamon You decide how much.
  • 1/4 tsp. Salt
  • 1 tsp. Extra Virgin Olive Oil or Melted Butter Stir into the egg mixture
  • 1 Tblsp Butter (To coat the skillet)
  • Maple Syrup
  • Powdered Sugar

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients and soak bread in the mixture until it has absorbed all it can absorb.

  2. Spray a non stick skillet with cooking spray.

  3. Add 1 Tablespoon of butter to skillet and allow to melt.

  4. Add the bread slices and cook until nicely browned on both sides and egg mixture is cooked through.

  5. Top with maple syrup and a sprinkle of powdered sugar if desired.
