We stopped into a very unique, family-owned restaurant over the weekend.
We only stayed for a short time. But their chips and salsa were really good…and the service was awesome.

And I’ve never been served complimentary refried beans along with the salsa. We ordered a side of their cheese dip too, and it was REALLY good. And FYI….those beers were really cold…in frosted glasses. And on a ninety-degree day that is a GOOD thing.

The bartender was also a waiter, and when we arrived there were no empty seats at his bar. But he was also taking care of all of us seated at tables in the bar area as well! He was amazing to watch. He did not waste a movement in any direction. I asked him if he was part of the family who owns the restaurant…and I was not surprised to hear that he is.
The bar cleared out while we were there…but if you find yourself in Clive, Iowa and you have a hankering for a good meal in a great Mexican restaurant, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed at Mi Mexico!
