The Bayview Cafe – Fort Lauderdale, Florida

As you may know…we try LOTS of diners when we travel.  But no matter WHERE we go…this diner is the best.  PERIOD.

Chef Francois and his staff will do whatever it takes to make sure the diners are satisfied.  And it feels like we’ve walked into a Mayberry diner when we open the door…EVERY SUNDAY MORNING after church…We keep waiting for Barney and Andy to join us.  Everybody knows EVERYBODY.  It’s a great feeling…

In fact, it doesn’t matter whether Donna or Lisa are waiting on us and writing down our order…We know Chef Francois already started cooking our breakfast when he saw us walk in.  We are eating within five minutes.  How SPECIAL we feel when we know he remembers our order.  And even if we’re gone for months…he sees us walk in and comes out to greet and hug us…while our food is already on the griddle!  We’re HOME.

Do you know how that makes customers feel?  It’s an AMAZING feeling, for sure!  And Makenzie, the bus boy/cashier always has a friendly smile and a glass of ice water for me.  He remembers EVERY week.  Only ONE water…Just for me. Fred doesn’t want one, and Makenzie ALWAYS remembers.  That’s the kind of comforting cocoon you walk into at the Bayview Diner. I really can’t explain how welcoming it is.  But trust me, you want to experience it! OFTEN…At least once a week.

Our breakfast is awesome…every Sunday.  Without fail.  And the old saying is, If it ain’t broke…don’t fix it.  And I have only changed my order ONCE in the past THREE YEARS.  I get the Country Club Omelet, American Fries and Buttered Rye Toast…EVERY SUNDAY.

My Country Club Omelet with Bacon, Turkey and Tomato…And Homemade Hollandaise…Delicious!

And Hubby’s Over Hard Eggs with LOTS of Bacon and Taters…Always a hit!
