There is nothing quite like a LONG road trip. And we are embarking on an epic adventure…
Our trip will take us all the way to Oregon, with some awesome stops along the way. So sit back…fasten your seat belts and LET’S GO!
First stop…Council Bluffs, Iowa. And of course this stop was just in time for lunch. And we let my android GPS voice (I call her Stella) guide us to the quaint Main street in old Council Bluffs…
Where we found…Duncan’s Cafe. A family owned business since 1974!
As you can imagine, it was a blast from the past…and every head turned when we opened the door and stepped inside. (Our favorite kind of joint!)
Of course I opted for the old Midwestern standby, a TENDERLOIN Sandwich…
And it was HUGE…of course…Bigger than the bun!
And Hubby got his usual summertime standby…a BLT. But he couldn’t resist the lure of that all American dessert…
A BIG old slab of PEACH PIE! (Warmed, but no ice cream.) Our perky waitress warned him to “Eat ALL of your sandwich before you eat your dessert”…It was a voice from MOM…
And after our calorie packed lunch, we crossed the river and headed into that great abyss…otherwise known as…
NEBRASKA!
