Ambrusci’s Fire And Wine Restaurant – Lakewood, Colorado

August 23, 2018 by Meemaw 4 Comments

Ambrusci’s Fire & Wine Restaurant in Lakewood Colorado is fairly new, and it’s only blocks away from Peepaw’s sister’s home. But before we headed out for dinner we were greeted with a beautiful lunch!  As you already know…family and food go hand in hand for us. And when we arrived at Patricia and Robert’s home we were quickly greeted with a wonderful lunch on their patio.

It was a gorgeous day, and the food was delicious.

You should be even more impressed with that beautiful lunchtime spread when I tell you our hosts were leaving at 3 a.m. the next morning for an Alaskan cruise!

Yes…they were leaving us to close up their lovely home the next afternoon when WE were leaving for the airport.  So there was NO WAY either Patricia or I wanted to cook later that evening. So when dinnertime rolled around we headed to Ambrusci’s Fire & Wine to eat a quick bite before all turned in the some shut eye.

This beautiful restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The landscaping was gorgeous and the decor was beautiful.

Our server, Steph, was quick to greet us with a smile, and Patricia told us the lettuce wraps were a delicious choice…so we followed her lead. And she was right. I am determined to figure out exactly what was in that chicken and white bean mixture so I can duplicate that dish at home!

The three dipping sauces were all delicious. Several had a little “kick” but the heat was balanced and not overpowering. And the thai chili sauce was sweet and tangy. A perfect blend with the chicken filling.

Of course we also ordered Ambrusci’s dry-rubbed wings too since I rarely pass up that appetizer in any restaurant. And they were delicious too.  A little spicy for my taste, but the heat was toned down by dipping in that great creamy sauce.

Trust me when I say we didn’t hang around too long. We were all “pooped” and ready to get a good night’s sleep before we ALL began our next adventures. And for you young folks reading this…just know that retirement is NOT a time to sit around. We’re lucky enough to still have some pep in our steps…and we’ve got more places to go.  So stay tuned.

We’re just getting started.
