Sometimes it’s great to have NO surprises. Especially when it comes to hotel accommodations.
That is, unless they’re GOOD surprises! And that was the case during our hotel stay in Kearney. The Wingate by Windham Hotel not only met our expectations, but they exceeded them on many levels.
The reception desk was staffed by two happy and competent young women, and check in was a breeze. And after dropping off our luggage in our clean and spacious room, we wandered back downstairs for the Manager’s cocktail hour. The hostess was friendly and quick to bring beverages, and the array of snacks was more than adequate. Cheese and crackers, chips and salsa, veggies and dip…and even dishes of candy and nuts were offered. (Sorry…no pictures!)
The bedding and pillows were wonderful. We had our choice of form or soft pillows, and the towels were snow white and fluffy.
And after a great night of sleep…Breakfast, you ask? Why yes. And it’s complimentary!
The hotel offers everything from scrambled eggs and sausage, biscuits and gravy, cereal, waffles, fruit, and various types of bagels and rolls. Something for everyone, for sure.
Like I said,,,There was nothing not to like at the Windham Hotel in Kearney Nebraska.
And that feeling of total satisfaction prepared us for the rest of our trip across Nebraska.
I’ve created a new state motto, and I wonder if it will catch on.
“Nebraska…The Pancake of America!” Has a nice ring to it, don’t you think?
Hmm…I think pancakes were the only food not offered at the hotel…
